11 Cheap and Simple Meals

11 Cheap and Simple MealsI was asked by a friend for some cheap and simple meals for her family.  She has one little one, but after you get out of college and your meal plan ends you need to figure something out. That is what I did 10 years ago, wow. I have to admit, some of these things are not the healthiest options.  But it is what we eat sometimes.  As long as you are eating with family and friends that is what matters. Again I don’t think these are healthy for your family but they are quick and cheap and probably better than most fast food.

The first thing I like to do is get the chicken that is only $2.00 a pound that is packaged per chicken breast.  I cut these into individual portions and put them in the freezer.  Then I add them to crock pot meals.

Chicken and Vegetables

Ingredients

  • One can of cream of mushroom
  • Half cup of milk
  • Piece of Frozen Chicken
  • Half Bag of Frozen Vegetables

Put in crock pot for 8 hours on low of 4 hours on high.  Serve over rice.

Chicken Noodle Soup

  • Celery, Carrots, and Onions cut up
  • 4 chicken bullion cubes
  • chicken
  • Noodles cooked separately

Put in crock pot for 8 hours on low of 4 hours on high. Put noodles in at end.

Hot Dogs and Beans

Cut up hot dogs and thin slices.  Cook with olive oil.  Add a can of beans.

BBQ Shredded Chicken

Put 2 chicken breasts in the crock pot with half a bobble of bbq sauce 4 hours on low.  Have with vegetables.

Ramen with Steamed Broccoli

Cook ramen like you would normally (we choose chicken).  Then put the steamed broccoli frozen bag in the microwave.  Mixed together.

Grilled Cheese

I am not going to explain this one.

Dessert- Soda Fruit Cake

  • One box of cake mix
  • 3 cups frozen fruit

Pancakes

Scrambled Eggs

 Spaghetti

  • 1 can of sauce
  • Half a pound of spaghetti
  • Add frozen meatball if you like

Pierogis and two frozen vegetable sides or beans or corn

Baked potatoes, Campbells beans, and Broccoli

Mash open the bake potatoes, put the beans on top, and have with broccoli.

And here is a few other things that I created little recipies for a couple years ago.  Good luck!
