I recently inherited quilts made by my Great-Grandmother. This is a woman who I never met. Since I am hanging pictures in my daughters room they are made by her Great-Great-Grandmother. The problem was they were starting to fall apart. My Mom thought it would be a great idea to frame them for my daughter.
So this became a family thing. My Mom found 3 frames at Michaels for the price of one. My dad painted them white. My Mom and I cut the flowers off the quilt. I then mounted them in the frames using the mat for a white background. Then my husband helped hang them. We used some painters tape and some math to figure that out. I love them and I am glad we are preserving the past. I think our little girl will appreciate them some day too.
